Documentation and Trade Compliance Terms
On this page
These terms cover GcomFlow's export and import onboarding, documentation preparation and customs support services, including help for businesses new to cross-border trade. You remain the exporter or importer of record and are legally responsible for your shipments; GcomFlow and its licensed partners assist you.

2. Documents you must provide#

Sellers outside India provide the equivalent documents for their country, listed under Seller verification documents in our Privacy Policy.
3. Accuracy of information#
You confirm that all information and documents you give us are true, complete and not misleading, including product descriptions, values, quantities, origin and end use. Under-valuation, misdeclaration or false origin claims are illegal and may lead to account termination and reporting to authorities. You bear all duties, penalties, storage charges and costs arising from inaccurate information.
4. Classification and duty estimates#
HS codes and duty estimates we suggest are based on the information you provide and are not binding rulings. Customs authorities make the final decision. You may request a formal advance ruling from the authority where available.
5. Export controls and sanctions#
You must not use our services to export or import goods, software or technology in breach of India's Foreign Trade Policy, SCOMET controls, or sanctions and export-control laws of other countries that apply. We screen parties and destinations and may refuse or stop any shipment that raises compliance concerns.
6. Not legal advice#
Onboarding guidance and documentation support are operational help, not legal, tax or regulatory advice. For complex matters, consult a licensed customs broker, chartered accountant or trade lawyer. Our partner brokers act under their own licences and professional rules.
7. Timelines#
We give estimated timelines for registrations and documents, but third-party authorities, banks and labs control processing times. Government fees are passed through at cost and are non-refundable once paid.
8. Record keeping#
You must keep your trade records for the period required by law (typically at least [5–8] years in India). We keep copies of documents we prepare for the period required by law and our Privacy Policy, and can share them with you on request.
9. Liability#
Our liability for documentation and customs support is limited to re-performing the affected service or refunding the fee paid for it, except where the law does not allow this limit. We are not liable for authority decisions, penalties from inaccurate information you provided, or market access refusals.
